Last Christmas, nine charities received a helping hand from Planters Bank’s charity program. The bank is pleased to announce the return of this contest for 2011. Each Planters Bank office will select one charitable organization to receive a “Helping Hands” award for up to $1,000.

The winners from 2010 were Sunny Seniors Alzheimer’s Respite Program in Cleveland, Animal Relief and Rescue in Leland, Delta Missions for Indianola and Inverness, Good Samaritan Health Center in Greenville, Arvell Bullock Recreational Center in Louise, Hope Shelter of Leflore County in Greenwood, Sunflower County Freedom Project in Sunflower and Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Foundation in Ruleville.

“We are asking residents of the Delta to tell us about their favorite charity again this year.” said Randy Randall, COO of Planters Bank. “It was a pleasure notifying the winning charities in 2010, and each charity was so grateful for the extra support. Due to the overwhelming number of entries in 2010, we couldn’t wait to begin the 2011 Helping Hands contest.”

To nominate your favorite charity, stop by any Planters Bank location to fill out an entry form or visit Planters Bank’s Facebook page to enter their information. Ballot boxes are located in the lobby of each office, and the nine winning charities will be announced during the week of Christmas. DBJ
