Norwegian Parliament calls on medical pioneer Dr. Robert Elliott

The Norwegian Parliament last week called upon U.S. Secretary of Health and Humans Services, the Honorable Tommy Thompson, to officially establish the Joint U.S. - Norwegian Cancer Vaccine Program built around the revolutionary cancer vaccine work of American physician, Dr. Robert Elliott of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Bjorn Hernaes, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, called Dr. Elliott’s work “revolutionary” and a “major breakthrough” in the fight against cancer.

Elliott, a native of Greenville and a Delta State University and University of Mississippi Medical School graduate, is the developer and patent holder of the first and only patented autogenous breast cancer vaccine in the United States. He has also developed a prostate cancer vaccine as well. The Norwegian Radium Hospital, the largest cancer treatment and research facility in all of northern Europe, has also teamed with Elliott to further his groundbreaking work.

Norwegian parliamentary officials noted that, both in the United States and in Europe, government officials have underscored the fact that Elliott’s cancer vaccine work is further along than anything that has been developed by any known governmental entity to date.

“The United States and Norway need to join together and expand the development of these cancer vaccines so that the cancer patients in the United States, Norway and, throughout the world will have access to these revolutionary cancer vaccines,” Hernaes said.

Other members of the Norwegian Parliament noted that it is imperative that the Joint U.S.-Norwegian Cancer Vaccine Program, built around Elliott’s work, be funded to move to the next level of instituting clinical trials for cancer vaccines. Hernaes went on to note that “The fact that Dr. Elliott has done so much of this work on his own and out of his own pocket with virtually no government funding is the kind of remarkable story of vision, determination and perseverance you only see in old movies. It truly is an American success story.”

Elliott will be presenting his latest findings to leading medical institutions throughout Scandinavia on an upcoming trip later this year. The Norwegian Parliament has officially invited Elliott to address the Health Committee of the Norwegian Parliament during his trip. DBJ
