DBJ
looks better
I have noticed more news stories in the last few Delta Business
Journals and I think that’s wonderful. I’ve
always liked your feature stories but the new articles on
Hispanics in the Delta, the voting primary problems and
such add a new dimension—and more meat—to your
already fine publication. Keep up the good work!

Personal
responsibility by the wayside
Just read (Jack Criss’) editorial on “Fast food
and nudity”. Scary, isn’t it? Wendy’s
is falling all over itself trying to appease a vocal minority
and worrying about the potential for lawsuits. I am sure
that McD’s, BK and all of the others are following
suit.
It is truly amazing that the concept of personal responsibility
has disappeared from the American vocabulary. Never mind
that our fathers, grandfathers, etc. ate a much fatter diet
than we do today. A little physical exercise rather than
watching TV, surfing the internet, or playing gameboy or
other electronic games would do wonders for us and our kids.

Appreciates
DBJ’s support of Gulf Coast
Greetings from Mississippi’s Gulf Coast! We recently
read the May 2003 issue of the Delta Business Journal. We
were thrilled to be featured in the Special Emphasis Section.
We greatly appreciate your support in the “Gulf Coast:
The Delta’s Gateway” article.
With Scott Coopwood’s family’s 60-year history
as summer residents in lovely Pass Christian, you are well
aware of the unmatched beauty of the 26-mile stretch of
our picturesque white sand beaches, nestled against Mississippi’s
Highway 90. And as you also know, the scenic drive is just
the beginning. To add to tourists’ delight, there
are 12 exciting resort casinos, 22 championship golf courses,
237 excellent restaurants, and 42 fascinating cultural attractions
that beckon.
Again, many thanks for the special section featuring the
success story of the Gulf Coast.
