Coopwood
Communications wins
big at the 2002 Mississippi Delta Advertising Federation
Awards
Company
lands an impressive number of citations for excellence
The
three and half year old Cleveland-based advertising agency,
Coopwood Communications, won 38 ADDYs at the Mississippi
Delta Advertising Federation Awards ceremony held on Saturday,
February 22, at The Greenville Country Club. Coopwood also
received the top awards “Graphic Designer of the Year”
and “Best of Show - Broadcast”. This latter
award was for TV commercials the firm produced for Delta
Regional Medical Center in Greenville.
The
annual awards ceremony recognizes excellence in advertising
and marketing work in the Delta region.
“We
are extremely honored by this recognition,” says Coopwood
Communications owner and founder, Scott Coopwood. “Like
many other businesses located here in the Delta, we too
at Coopwood are often faced with the challenge of businesses
that think they must look beyond our region for professional
services. The awards our firm received this week are proof
that a Delta-based advertising agency can produce outstanding
work on the scale of a firm located in Memphis, Jackson,
Atlanta or just about anywhere else.”
Founded
in the Fall of 1999, Coopwood Communications is a full-service
advertising, marketing, and public relations firm representing
some of the Delta’s largest corporations. Last year,
Coopwood started a sister company, Cypress Web Design, that
specializes in web site design and hosting. Coopwood Communications
is also in the process of opening offices in Jackson and
Oxford.
Coopwood
Communications was created out of the Delta Business Journal,
also founded by Scott Coopwood.
“When
I began the DBJ, I had no intention whatsoever to start
an advertising agency,” says Coopwood. “After
the first year of the DBJ, we found ourselves writing copy
and designing ads for many of our advertisers in the publication,”
he continues, “from redesigning and resizing those
ads for other newspapers, to developing those same ad concepts
into brochures and then into marketing plans. We soon realized
that there was a need for a full-service ad agency here
in the Delta, thus Coopwood Communications was created.”
